New LS member

Hi there just thought I would introduce myself. Having owned an Ls400 a number of years ago I recently bought another LS430 and brought her back to Northern Ireland. Being a 2001 she has a Gen 00 sat nav and the GB map only includes England Scotland and Wales. Lexus Belfast want to lighten my wallet by £150 for the only update available and even that is only 2009. Ah well hope I can get a few answers on here.

Hi Neil, welcome to the LOC.

A 2009 update compared to a 2016 Tom Tom for about £80 may be a no brainer.  I do use my Lexus sat nav on the odd occasion, and it's OK-ish, but it's frustrating not being able to put post codes in.   Do you only have the LS430 now?

Hi Neil and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over.

We recommend you spend a couple of mins looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later.

Welcome Neil

Might be worth trying to pick up a second hand disc on eBay. Just be careful to get one compatible with your system as there are many generations of navigation unit that are incompatible with each other.
