Is300H Executive dash material

Recommended Posts

Hi, my wife has put some light surface scratch's on the dash just above the glove box, it's the rounded surface and it looks like she's placed some items in the front footwell and scratched as she's removed them.

I have a 2015 Is300h Executive which comes with leather seats, does anyone know if the dash is covered in real Leather or is it fake ? I want to get something to remove the scratch but need to know what it is first, anyone recommend anything?

Thanks, it's got a leather grain look to it, any idea what can be used to remove light scratching from it?

TBH its unlikely you're going to remove them without removing the grain as well.

I reckon a trim repairer can sort it but you'll be looking at a minimum of £150

Nah dash in IS and RC are molded plastic

Except the part covering the instrument binnacle bulge, on my 2016 RC at least it feels different, softer, has stitch detailing around the edge and has no 'grain' ?

Yeah the knee pads are leather but the rest of the dash is moulded plastic with a leather look grain to it.

Was looking again today and the top of the dash, above the cluster, quite a small area but definitely soft leather, in black but the same texture and feel as the seats and centre console sides

Yes but OP is referring to the other side which is plastic

In regard to the passenger side knee/glovebox area, I've found it does mark very easily! Fortunately in my case, the marks have been removed easily with an interior detailing spray. More than can be said for the driver's inside door sill, very easily makes by shoe scuffs. Still working on how to remove those

Thanks, what detailing spray do you use? I'll give it a go

I use Meguiar's Quick Interior detailer spray for general maintenance, seems to shift/disguise minor marks but for something more serious I go for Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care spray.

If neither of those work on your marks you could try very, very carefully applying a little steam heat to the area. Often brings dents and marks back up. A trim specialist would be my preference to correct badly marked areas
