Hid's For Is200

The only gripe I have with my IS is the headlight strength. I recently went for a drive in a range rover with hid's and they were fantastic and it's made me want some on my car.

Now that the LE model is out does anybody know if Lexus will fit HID's in replace of the standard headlights?

Also, if poss can we have a group buy on this?

I'm really keen to have these fitted as I reckon they make a huge difference.

If anybody has any info on this it would be appreciated.

I thought exactly the same thing to myself when I saw the limited edition model. I think the headlights are actually a different shape (from memory, it actually says that on lexus.co.uk), so it may not be as simple as an easy retrofit.

To have HID's installed "legally" you need to have auto-levelling which is not a simple retro fit.

You can of course not bother with the auto-levelling but I doubt very much if Lexus will do this.

I installed auto levelling on my JDM headlights,i thought there was more to it than that for HID's....?

When i say auto i still have to dial in the adjustment on the switch by the fog light switch.

That is manual not auto adjust Pete.

The HID level is controlled by sensors fitted to the vehicle suspension.

the HID level sensors are located on the left side of the car by the front and rear suspension arms

Another thing, maybe not applicable in the UK, but over here you also need the headlight washers to make HID lights legal. Dirty headlights can make for a blinding light diffusion with the strong HID lights.

That would mean another (IS300) bumper, or a modified one.

I think all IS200's over here in the UK have headlight washers built in from the factory
