Hi,

As the title says I have a problem with my seat cushion height part of the switch on the seat, all the other movements work fine but when you go to move the chair up and down it makes a louder noise but nothing happens.

It's at the garage where i got it from (non Lexus) at the moment but they've had it once already and couldnt work out what it was, so anyone got any ideas and maybe we can help them cuz they dont seem too clever

Thanks

Colin

I have exactly the same problem in my V reg Is200

it sounds like the motor is running but not making contact with whatever it is that makes it move.

as of yet Ive been reluctant to remove the seat to find out if I can sort it or not.

If your garage sorts it out, I would be intersted to know what it was and how much of a problem it was to sort out

many thanks

ok well i just called the garage and they say that the problem was a part had 'rivited' into the seat or something and that the solution to this is a new chair. He said that new chairs are £987 excluding leather etc so they would have to swap that over with my current chair. All this seems a bit stupid to me considering you see whole interiors for sale on eBay for a few hundred quid!!!

I still dont believe a single chair cosst this much, is this true?

I had the same problem last year funny noises coming from my driver seat, tried oiling it, no luck.

Took it to Lexus, they said the base of the seat needed a replacement, not the whole seat.

Luckily got mine fixed from Lexus under warranty :D , so no idea on the cost.

its under warranty and i could get it done but there is a limit on my warranty and getting a chair for £1000 would use up most of it so i think i'll leave it liek it is. its at the correct height for me anyway!

Is that a 3rd party warranty then??

yes it is, i only bought the car in november. its Drive Assured Select Gold warranty or something. Its basically what the dealer gave me where i bought my car from. If near the end of the year I havent used the warranty i'll just get it replaced then. It doesnt really bother em that much.
