ghost_killer 10
Hey all, As I removed the rear lights to change to LED indicators (hyper flashed even though they said it wouldn't so sent them back), found a slight issue when fitting the rear cluster back on one side (haven't tried the other side) the bolts doesn't seem to tighten so I think it must be the 'grommet' part no. 90189-06235 that seems to be worm and needs changing - circled and that arrow in red on the pictures those pics show the near side part of the car. Anyone know how to remove them ? I haven't yet tried to see if they come out that easily, I can get new ones easily just not sure if there is a way to remove them. Mr Vlad 273
Can you not use a self tapping screw? I'm quite surprised that the 'grommet' part has worn as it's basically not a moving part. Perhaps a previous owner has stripped it's thread.
Paul Brooksbank 107
Take a piece of copper wire, the earth off 1.5 mm twin and earth and bend it double, then slide it into the hole so the tails are sitting on the rim of the plastic insert. Then try the screws again.
