How to open boot on NX300h using fob whilst not opening all other doors

Is it possible to programme key fob so I can open the boot on my nx300h without having to open all of the doors first? When I press the boot lid button the boot will not open. I have to open all of the doors using the fob before it will let me open the boot. Surely this can't be right as it poses security issues. I've looked in the manual and on line and can't find how to programme the remote fob so that I can open the boot in isolation- ie  keeping the other 4 doors locked.

Can anyone help me on this please?

Have you check the button in the glove box? When depressed it disables remote boot opening (valet mode?)

I'll bet that's what it is - every Lexus I've had with remote boot unlocking would open the boot without the doors having to be unlocked.

My 2013 RX450h Advance and my 2018 RX450h Luxury will not allow the tailgate to open without unlocking all doors at the same time. I can stand with my finger on the 'tailgate open' button for hours but nothing happens until I press the 'unlock' button, at which point all locks operate and I can then press the 'tailgate open' button and it does.

Just checked the NX300h loaner I have and the tailgate cannot be opened without unlocking all the doors as well.

Use the button on the tailgate will open the tailgate and simultaneously unlock all the doors.

Use the remote fob button will have no effect unless the doors are unlocked first.

On my RC300h the boot will operate totally independently of the doors status.

You can double check the operation requirements in the NX 2016 handbook linked below. I haven't read through all the sections but it appears tailgate and door operations are combined..

Every day is a school day here! I wonder if it's an "xX" thing and doesn't apply to the "xS" models?

Same here! There appears to be no button in the glove box either...

I'm guessing it's a saloon/coupe vs SUV thing? One can easily access the inside of the car from the load area of an SUV. Not so easy in the other models

I would say that's the most likely explanation.

Yes it is possible but it is a dealer customisation so you need someone with Techstream software to make the change, you cannot do it via menus in the vehicle. Not sure if something like Carista can also do it.

I cannot remember if you there is an option to keep the other doors locked when it opens, or opening the boot will unlock all the other - possibly two different options.
