Lexus LS460 or LS600h... Which one to buy...

Recommended Posts

My Honda Legend has all this KLAS stuff too and to my knowledge it's not being used to any effect when it's being driven ....  maybe if I had it in my Ls400 it would be used but might be one of those features, like many others, that are just not used by most ( or many ) drivers .....  too much technology for me to get to grips with I guess ..........  simple cars with simple teccy stuff suits me down to the ground :whistling:

Bit like worrying about the rear seating combos and the technology, screens there etc ........  never have anyone in my back seats, well so rarely it's a little irrelevant ( or am I being irreverent :wink3: )

I recently drove a rental Ford Focus with some kind of "keep in lane" system. I hated it with a vengeance as it kept refusing to do what I told it to do.
I am the driver, I am in control, I do not want some computer vetoing my decisions EXCEPT in an emergency.
You can keep all of that stuff until we reach the point where the computer is in full control of the vehicle and I can just enter a destination and go to sleep.
I do use cruise control, but I ALWAYS have the final say with brake/throttle with that so that's OK.
ABS/TCS/VSC I don't mind as they only interfere in specific circumstances although TCS can get irritating sometimes when it takes seconds to recover from a slip.
Many modern cars seem to be adding systems to keep idiots safe. As a species we don't need that. Either you drive the car with 100% of your attention, or you take the bus and let someone else drive.

The stuff that is being added to cars reminds me of the birth of the HSE in the 70s and the removal by the system of an individuals responsibility to look out for their's and those around them safety.

The LS is still going strong! albiet someone scratched the rear bumper whilst parked - put some new michelins on it - now running smooth and quite as ever.

There is some protection one can spray to protect from rust which most likely happened.

But it seems like you really did well over there, have me in mind when selling it on...

Are you again looking for a RX300? I thought you had one and you sold it because of the high consumption.
