What specifically makes the 2005-2008 models unsuitable for E10 fuel?

I'm sticking with e5 super

Same. £107 last night again at Esso which is frustrating but what can you do. I think it's about £6 a tank difference at the moment.

After watching just how much ethanol is in E10 compared to E5 its virtually no different.

Based on the video that Texas posted?

I'm sure your car will probably be fine since it seems the fuel companies are erring on the side of caution as very few, if any, of the fuels seem to actually have the full 10% of ethanol in them.

I think I'd want more evidence though, over a longer period of time to be fully convinced. If you watch some of the other videos on that channel, there's some variation in the results.

The exact same fuels being tested a few months apart can throw up a different outcome. Again, never with a full 10% of ethanol, but still.

Plus, whichever refinery is/was responsible for the fuel being sold in your area will probably add another variable into the mix.

We already know that Esso don't guarantee that their Supreme 99 stuff is ethanol-free in all parts of the UK. Only some. And since Scotland is one of the areas that doesn't have 0% ethanol Esso, I'm going to assume that all the fuel sold near me could potentially have a higher ethanol content than what's being show in the youtube tests.

Yes good points John. Maybe an idea is to do a test ones self with the fuel from ones respective area. Who knows if there are area differences in ethanol content in petrol.

When I need to fill up again it'll be with E5 and the time after with E10 but each time with my trusted additive.
