Hello John.

Probably need a bit more information, but are you saying you can get into the car but nothing happens when you apply the foot brake and press the start button?

So the car battery’s flat?

Is the gear in park, if it’s an auto?

Try applying the foot brake, pressing the Lexus logo on the key fob against the Start button as you press it.

Otherwise it sounds like you’re going to have to get a jump start from another Battery or a power pack.

You may even need to replace the key fob Battery as well.

When you say "completely" dead - do you mean that the engine doesn't crank or start, but you can switch on the sidelights/headlights, or is absolutely nothing working at all?

I'm guessing they can't open the car via the fob due to the 12v Battery being dead, or very low.

I experienced this scenario a few years ago when the dashcam had drained my Battery low enough for the fob to be ineffective.

You can open the car with the physical key if you pop off the door handle cover to reveal the keyhole.

Be aware though that an intruder alarm siren will probably sound once you open the door...and it will not stop!

So, be ready to pop the bonnet quickly and have a 10mm spanner or socket ready to hand so you can disconnect the Battery terminal.

As Len says, more info required. But yes, a jump start from another source will be needed.

Yes It only stops when engine is started and immobiliser is deactivated, but if Battery is flat, then be prepared to listen to it for 15 minutes. It does not help that secondary siren is next to the Battery, so when changing the Battery it beeps into your ear.

Point is - do not attempt if you don't have spare Battery or jump starter ready as it may turn out quite embarrassing!
