Lexus Factory Paint Protection Film

Hi All,

I noticed on the Lexus Tech site the spec sheet for my LC showed a Paint protection wax/film : Protection Film

Does anyone else have this / or know about this as an option? I didnt know or havent verified I have this (not sure how to) but a couple of the stone chips did look a little strange on the bonnet. Searching online suggest Toyota do offer this and a YT video suggested it might be installed at the factory which I guess is right given its on the spec sheet.

Also noticed it has an item listed for Anti-chipping paint : Fenders

Protective film is not fitted by Lexus as standard, your probably looking at around 5k if the compete  car is done properly.

There its such thing as Anti chip paint, in fact Lexus has one of the softest paints going, you will get stone chips

They do have self healing paint , if you have a light scratch and poor warm  water on it, or leave the car out in the sun it car reduce or in some instances completely remove them.

I think this might just refer to the shipping protection they put on the vehicle to protect the paint which is removed once imported/delivered to the dealer.

Anti chipping paint is just that. Typically applied to the rockers/lower doors. Every Lexus has this.

Yup, both my RC were completely wrapped in white film on delivery to the dealership, even the alloys had a hardened version on them.

As has been suggested, this may simply refer to a basic protective film applied to provide some protection during shipping.

It’s not to be confused with the kind of Paint Protection Film (PPF) which is invariably applied by specialist Detailers and is a very different proposition.

This is typical of the product.
