During the recent cold spell I had not driven the car for a coupleof weeks and when I went to use it the Battery was flat.

I charged the Battery and all was well for a couple of days when driving it.

Yesterday, after a few days of being parked p, when I started the car the P/S light was on and I have no power sterring.

What do I look for first to try and identify the problem.

Seems like the battery may be beyond its best. Disconnect it to charge again if you didn't before.

When you reconnect, it may reboot the systems.

Electrical glitches are common with a failing battery.

It is a relatively new Battery (18 monthsor so).

I tried disconnecting it following your suggestion and find that the P/S is still not operating and the light is still on.

Hi Peter. Are most of the lights on on your dash? Something similar happened to me in my is250. Lost steering and the dash was lit up like a Christmas tree. Alternator was the reason. It stopped charging. All good now after getting it replaced.

Once I start the engine,t he only light that remains on is the P/S light - everything else seems to operate OK,
