2nd Key πŸ”‘ + πŸ”’ πŸ›ž Nuts ready

Recommended Posts

My dealer just phoned, the 2nd second key πŸ”‘Β  has arrived.Β  TheπŸ”’ πŸ›ž nuts arrived a while ago but thought I'd get them both sorted together.

After waiting since Nov '23 I'm booked in for an hour on Thursday. πŸ˜ƒΒ

How much?

All included in the price of the car.Β  Β£0.00 extra!Β  However, I would expect them to at the very least include a coffee β˜•οΈ πŸ™ƒ,Β  biscoff and any other freebies that they feel a Lexus owner deserves for having to wait so long.Β  πŸ€”Β

At the dealership now, did the self check-in which I wasn't that keen on.Β  There was no welcome, no hello, pretty much nothing.Β  Even the coffee machine is away being repaired.

Just sat waiting, around 40 mins now, for someone to come and give me the the 2nd πŸ”‘Β  and tell me the locking wheel nuts have been fitted.

Not impressed at all.Β  Is this really the best that Lexus has to offer πŸ€”Β

Just checked my 'Trips' and it appears that my car is off on a jolly 1.1m away.Β  No idea what's happening!

There may be a rallycross circuit nearby?🀨. Many years ago I had my soft top sports car in for a service and later saw and heard my car being driven at speed down the road with the hood down ( it was up when I took it in ) with two blokes in it. I complained to the garage and got a shrug - roadtest matey!   Tossers!  They even put a scratch on it when putting the hood back. They were RAC authorised - and I was a member too, so I reported them. The RAC dealt with them and insisted on an apology and a refund and a scratch repair. I don't think the RAC are as good now as they used to be though.

Well,Β  just got back from this morning's so called Luxury Lexus experience.Β  haha!Β πŸ˜’

My existence was actually acknowledge at about 09:20, over an hour since I'd got in.Β  I found out that their workshop was a mile down the road, hence the 1.1m each way trip.Β  I was offered a coffee but low and behold another bloke came along and handed me the 2nd key and said the locking wheel nuts were all fitted.Β  Β No coffee or Biscoff today!Β Β πŸ˜’Β  Was escorted back to my car by 2 blokes.Β  Oh, wait a minute where's the car .... a few minutes later they located it, with my help, in their carpark.Β πŸ˜’

On the drive back I found that a number of settings had been altered .....Β πŸ˜’πŸ˜’

I left my last Lexus Dealership due to the poor experience I received from them and bought a new Lexus from a new dealership. Now my hopes of a ever getting a great, if not nice, Lexus customer experience appears to be in free-fall down a drainΒ Β πŸ˜’πŸ˜’

Like the cars but if Lexus Dealerships don't improve then my next purchase ain't likely to be a Lexus.Β  Running out of what I deem good Dealerships in my near area now.Β Β Β πŸ˜’πŸ˜’

That's hugely disappointing to hear about and certainly far from the positive experience that I enjoy from my local dealership- Lexus Edinburgh. If I were you I would be contacting the dealer principal at your dealership.

Since Covid, I have found that service in general (everywhere) is extremely poor.

Hopefully it will eventually improveΒ πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

I have to say that the Lexus dealer in Exeter, Snows, treated me very differently from John's experience. Second key handed over along with locking wheel bolts fitted, coffee and biscuits for me the missus and the dog and a nice chat with the charming receptionist! Made arrangement to have the CANBUS theft protection plate fitted, but in the event it transpired that this was already taken care of during manufacture.

I hope it improves too.Β  I think there are around 46 Lexus Dealerships in the UK.Β  I'm working my way through themΒ πŸ˜‰

Wouldn't want Lexus to go the same way asΒ Nissan Infiniti.Β  They'd better focus and improve their ways as there's a lot of up and coming competition out there.

That is what I expect and that's how it should be.Β  My impression of my current Lexus Dealership is that they want minimal human contact hence the auto check-in, etc ....

+1 for Snows from me as well, only used the once for my last service but was impressed.

Just noticed that not only were some of the settings changed on my RX they've also cleared all my Satnav favourite destinations.Β  That's a real pain!Β  I only went in for the locking wheel nuts and the 2nd Key.Β  Likely to be looking for a new dealer the way things are going. 😠 😑 πŸ‘Ώ 😀 🀬 😾

Have they maybe also done a software update?

It's quite probably but I never asked them to do so and they never informed me that they were going to.Β  In fact, on the auto check-in screen I selected 'NO' to any extra work being carried out.Β  I'm rather annoyed at having to enter everything again.Β  They were only meant to fit locking wheel nuts and give me a second key, not blow the Bl@@dy Doors Off !!Β πŸ˜‰

Maybe they had to do a reset to programme the new key.

Yes, it's quite possible but they could have told me beforehand so that I had the opportunity to make notes or if at all possible do a save of the destinations.Β

Is this Lexus Twickenham by any chance? This experience sounds all too familiar. When I bought my first Lexus I had high expectations too but had a similar experience to you. Never went back to that dealership again. My advice would be to continue looking for another dealership / workshop.

No, not Twickenham but I'll add it to my 'Poor Experiences / Not to go' list now that you've mentioned it.Β Β πŸ˜’
