Is200 Sport

Am i right there is no Automatic gearshift for the IS200 Sport? even though the performance is same as the other IS200 rather than higher performance/different engine. i was told few yrs ago at the London earls court motorshow on the Lexus stand that there was a Auto option for the IS200 Sport, back in 2000 i think.

& did someone say u get them as Automatic in Europe, germany?

yes you are right, no auto sport, dont know about Europe, or Germany, matt might ? matt.

yet the gs sports are auto

and the sports coupe is

and even the is430 is

wouldnt have thought it hard for lexus to have made it an option

The Auto wouldnt have worked with the final drive gearing in the LSD.

the reason the GS sport was auto was the fact ALL GS models are auto

the reason the is430 and the sc430 both use Auto, is the fact that the 4.3 engine is mated to the auto gearbox, Not a manual gerabox

im very sure i heard of some Altezza automatic that still got Torsion LSD??? i could be wrong.

OK.........why ask a question, and then dispute the answer.

There was NO IS200 SPORT AUTOMATIC sold in the UK, or anywhere else as far as i am aware.....remeber i am in Germany.

the SPORT name was only a decal applied to UK cars.ive not seen the same decal on any European car.!!

What LGB/TGB stipulate is entirely upto them regarding specifications, again TMME has a say in what overall specifications the models will Have European wide.

An Altezza tiptronic is not an IS200 Automatic..different specifications

The Euro Lexus site lists the IS200 available as a sport in either manual or auto (LSD only on the manual). However if any country actually sell it that is a different matter as most don't offer all the options shown on the Euro site.
