Can Someone Read Japanese?

Simple - it teaches you the pythagorus theory first, then it says put wire 1 in hole a, wire 2 in hole b and wire 3 in hole c. Then switch it on and turn the little thingy and it will work...

Glad I could be of assistance.... :D

Can't read oriental writing but could hazard a guess as to what it does.

Varies the signal seen by the ecu from the manifold pressure sensor (PIM).

Perhaps to fool the ecu into altering the fuelling ?

This (PIM) is the same signal which needs fiddling when fitting s/c or turbo.

Otherwise ecu expecting to see vacuum gets confused when rammed with +'ve pressure :)

Just as a footnote, the writing 'might' say ...

Don't waste your time fitting this on a car running closed loop like an IS200.

The ecu is cleverer than that and would spot your fiddling by the exhaust sensor.

I'm just guessing that bit, it might not be right :)

cheers for your help here guys......

Tony, thanks for the warning about ecu running closed loop......Glad there are people here keeping an eye out..................but as Mat pointed out its not for an IS! :)

Not for my altezza either, its for a friend with an ae86 trueno running individual throttle bodies and needed to map the fueling

Anyway someone translated the jist of it if anyone was interested??

oh yeah and thanks for your witty comments! :D

About the fuel control system

This system contols fueling by altering the boost sensor signal. With this boost errors can be corrected and optimum mixture obtained. with this controller the adjustments can be made as follows (reffering to graph)

vertical axis: output voltage

horizontal axis: vacuum sensor

with the knob in centre position the mixture is as standard. in the + direction it will become richer and more lean in the - direction.

colours in circles (from top to bottom):

yellow

white

black

i hope that makes sense.... seems like a posh resistor to me
