Recommended Posts

i have stone chips on bonet and a scratch on the boot whats the best way to get this touched up with out respray .

????? how much boot and bonet re spray any way/

I've got a few chips too! Grrr!!

I recenty boguht this kit:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ssPageName=WDVW

It looks FANTASTIC. The guy that I bought it from was superb and really helpful. It is from a company called Bonnet to Boot and basically they are a mobile bodyshop - this is the exact same kit they use when doing repairs! The colour match is spot-on.

I plan on using it wthin the next few days, so if you can wait I will be doing a review of the kit. If you contact the seller (Shaun Lee) make sure you mention me as I said I'd review his kit for the LOC! ;)

I've taken a poor picture with my camera phone too:

Likewise, will keep an eye on the thread.

Can remember the exact cost, but when when I was having the side skirts re-fitted to my IS, I asked Lexus Reading to have someone look at the chips I have in the bonnet with a view to telling me what I could do to have them removed.

Got an insurance quote from the Toyota bodyship in Bracknell for > £400 for a re-spray of the bonnet - ok, I know they are all part of the Octagon group, but would have been nice to have had a piece of paper with Lexus on it!!

Suffice to say, still have the chips in the bonnet ...

I would think that most of us have stone chips of some kind.

If you look at the used vehicles for sale at a Lexus dealership however they never have any stone chips visible.

I was once told by my dealer that the 'chips' man visits on a Friday.

From this I deduce that each dealership have the cars 'seen to' prior to going on the forecourt.

I bet Lexus don't pay any where near £400 for a professional 'touch up' and if so why can't they offer a realistic service to us ?

Damn.... I was going to have a go with the kit today - but it raining! :(

£400 is bloody rediculous! You can have the whole front end of your car professionally resprayed for that price.

In Manchester their is a bodyshop called MCR who do the work work Lexus Manchester so its quality stuff. I think he once quoted me:

£85 Bumper

£105 Bonnet

£35 Wings (for colour)

Thats to do the whole front of the car!

About £100 from chips away . I to would like to know what this stuff is like Anees

what we could do with is a few sprayers that will do a good deal for bumpers bonnets etc if we all go to them i mean surely there has got to be a few good sprayers in each region any ideas or contacts ?
