Max Speed On Is200

Hi people i would like to be put straight by a few things if possible, im looking at getting an is200 sport manual in september when im 21 an Mr insurance will be nicer to me. But everywhere i look for performance figures i keep getting 2 results, i understand 1 is for manual and 1 for automatic but in some places top end is only 125 on both, i also have a friend who had one his was a manual and only done 125,what is the top speed this car will do. thanks for your replys people thats just confirmed a nice sale for lexus in september, i cant wait to get mine now, i may take a few for a test drive just to make myself feel even worse about having to wait. lol, thanks again goughy.

one thing to remember goughy,

if your taking a new is200 out on a test drive then there is no speed limits apparently you can drive as fast as you want to familiarise yourself with the car and it limits :P

Or does that just apply to certain police officers

Most speedos read about 10% over, so, if you were on a private road long enough (such as brunters) you could probably get it to 145 on the speedo...

But of course, top speed doesnt matter, nor does 0-60, take an IS for a test drive and you'll discover its assests...

142 flat out in mine. But as others have pointed out, 10% margin of error. Apart from which, I won't be doing this again. Purely out of curiousity.

I managed to hit 139 with std wheels (tested on my dads south columbian runway).

About 128 with 18's.

im in germany and my will hit 150mph (speedo) but dont brake hard as ive had two new sets of front disc,s in the last 6 months....
