Tinting

Recommended Posts

What % is the tint on the rear windows on a is200 sport. How much would it cost if i wanted it done. Also what type the smoked effect??

Can any one recommend any one in birmingham area. Was quoted 130 for 2 rear windows and rear windscreen. Is that a good price.

Thanks

You would be best to take your car to the installer ........... and get them to match up the tint film to the windows at the back ..................

i thought any front window tints were now illegal but the police were taking a 'sensible' approach?

best bet mate is to go to a place in nottingham, not too far from you and if you join gold you will get a discount. they did mine and did a top job!

i'm sure someone got the whole car done for £200, i got my fronts done for £50, but you will have to become a gold member to gain access to the discount list i'm afraid matey.

I was wondering what the rear tint % is on the IS Sport compared to the front windows? I always think the front window tints look odd on the sport as they are much lighter than the rears- would it be possible to get them tinted more LEGALLY so that they match the rears? I think it would look so much nicer that way!

Read my previous post, dude :duh:

On the Sport, the rear tints are 35%. Which means that 35% of light is allowed to pass.

For front (and front side windows), the law does not allow for ANY tints. It's up to the local Federale's decision as to whether he books you or not.....

The rears on a Sport are darker than 35%...my fronts are 35% and are a shade lighter than the rears.

That's what I thought too. I am confused

Mr Morse, my understanding was that front tints are legal to a certain extent- otherwise why do lexus tint the front windows on every IS200 sport if it wasn't legal in this country? Has the legislation changed very recently?
