Green stuff pads

Recommended Posts

The only thing that is ******* me off about my car at the moment Tony, is the ammount of dust created by the pads.

I am having to wash my wheels every two days otherwise they look like an anthracite finish:mad:

How long do the lex pads normally last? I will defo consider fitting some aftermarket pads when these have worn out

Does anyone know the part numbers (or any way to indentify them to the guy at the shop) for front and rear GreenStuff pads for my IS200. The bloke wants me to take the wheel off to check something.

"we will need an outline of the pad to be certain of supplying the correct

>one as there is more than one available"

I don't really want to take the wheel off unless I can help it.

Cheers

No problem. As I remember, I spoke to a guy called Richard in Sales there who was very helpful.

As fas as the warranty goes, it's illegal for Lexus to invalidate a warranty unless they can prove that the discs/pads were the cause of a problem which affected the warranty claim. (So, for instance, they couldn't not let you claim for a new clutch because you've changed your discs).

In any event, pads are not covered by warranty. Discs are (providing they're not below the wear-limit), but if your EBC discs go wrong, they'd be covered by the EBC warranty - and there's not much that can go wrong with a disc!!

You may find that your Lexus dealer won't fit them for you - I took mine to a quality independent mechanic who charged me about 40 quid to change all the pads and the front discs.

Just ordered my Greenstuff pads front and rear from Sejoc. Spoke to Richard as mentioned and he was extremely friendly and helpful, even gave me free carriage. Pleasure to do business with them! Will see how the dust is with the new pads before deciding on new disks.:bounce:

Just recovering from paying for 70,000 mile service!

Had to have new set of rear pads fitted (Down to the metal!)(at least 3 set since new)

Will need new set of fronts within next 5000 miles. Reading through everyones messages it looks like the Green stuff is the way to go.

Is it straight forward to replace Pads (ie no special bits that must be replaced at the same time?)

Whats the approx cost of a set of front pads?

Do they work/last OK with std. disks.
