Any Web Page Html Guru's Have An Answer?

Recommended Posts

Im making my very first website its about the new Xbox360, ive used dreamweaver to create it and it kinda does what i want but I had to use frames to display the different pages in the center, is there a way to have a page display in a table without using frames?

the reason is I quite like the idea of having my pages display in a picture frame idea but I also want to try and pay for the hosting costs using google adsense and it says using frames is not a good idea?

Ive got lots of other things to do on the site to tidy it up and make it look nice so please dont make too much fun of my first attempt at a website ive spent about 3 days on it so far and most of that time was making the logo, Im useless at art :P :P

here it is if it will help you to know what im trying to do with it.

if posting my website is not allowed, then please remove the link.

Many thanks

Brett I dable abit in Web design ;)

Ideally you should use CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to create your website. That way you can use <DIV> tags and use layers that can be positioned on the screen exactly where you want them!

Their are a few good tutorials on the Dreamweaver site about this too. It makes your site look alot more professional.

I love the banner you have made. One suggestion if I may is to change the font. Times New Roman looks ugly on most websites, especially a high-tech one like yours. Use something such as Arial and it will look much better.

By using CSS you should be able to get rid of the scroll bar too. HOWEVER for a first attempt your website is great!!! :D :D :D

Well Ive updated it using CSS, its very simple now but i think it looks more professional and sleek, like the new console will be like

what do you think?

Looks good. However, to save space and bandwidth, would just the forum articles be better off with just the titles being displayed, rather than the whole post?

Never got my head round having menu's on the right either!

Regards,

paul
