Hi everyone, need some advice before i rip the Lexus CD player out and run over it!

I have the usual err3 problem but was managing to cope with listening to the radio, which well done lexus sounds great.......until this morning. Got in the car as usual and started up. Radio comes on but no station just crackle. Thought it may have lost the channel but it hasnt. All FM reception is like this. The station is faint in the background but with very loud crackle over the top. LW and tape work fine. Any ideas?

Has the aerial feed come out of the rear of the unit? Check the actual aerial, has someone snapped it off??

The aerial is fine on the roof, I will take the unit out and check the connections.

The aerial connection is fine in the back of the unit. I dont understand what could have happened. Turned it off one night and the next morning no reception.

What about resetting the radio? disconnect the batter and reconnect?

I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago. Still ahvent figured it out. all the connections intact. AM works, FM is just crackle, with very faint feed. Anyoen knwo how to get this fixed (short of an extortionate ride to lexus.....:( )

I have already posted about a company that can repair the CD err3 fault for about £280+VAT and the tuner fault for £45+VAT.

It might be the amplifier for the ariel causing the FM reception problem.

How does one find out, what kind of problem it is? Has anyoen else had teh same FM tuner problem?

Yes I have. As I said it is a tuner problem. Try Autosound.
