Where Are The Hp ?

hi, I bought an IS200 ( sport, s/c kit from bemani - 186 HP ) few weeks ago, but finally now I was on the brake .. and the result is disgusting ( as I thought ) - look at the picture .. 70 HP are somewhere, but not on the road :(( .. the engine is very smooth and without any noise ! so I hope there isnt any mechanical problem.

Do somebody know, what it can be ? I dont know, if the ecu is remapped or if its orig., its possible problem .. it can be a lot of things, such as fuel pump ( when standing at the rear left tyre I hear something like "sssssssss", probably from the pump ) etc ..

I will be thankful for any advice

welcome to the club.

Can you be a bit more specific about your car ?

I take it it is supercharged ?

the figures you quote are at the wheels..........you loose some power from the flywheel figure (which is what you were probably quoted)

why did you buy the bemani kit with reduced power when the TTE supercharger kit is better, bemani buy TTE kits and REDUCE the power output

because its from swiss and he bought it with the bemani kit, year 2000 .. I know that the first build of bemani supercharger were reduced TTE, but now they make same kit as TTE ( 200+ HP ) .. also they sell an upgrade to the sharp version, but now dont have money for it, in the future its my goal .... so, I bought it complete

I had a similar problem when i first had the s/c fitted and had it on a rolling road.

I then took it to Abbey Motorsport who did a dyno pack. Turned out the first rolling road was wrong. The gear ratio set up was incorrect.

Have a read here

The gear ratio is 4.920

hm, thx for a hint .. but, do you think, its mine case ? the s/c kit is as old as the car, but it was crashed and dont know, if they repaired it well ( engine was untouched - whole front bumper was gone and some other things - so maybe they forgot to plug smthg ) .. and what do you think about my Battery, isnt too small -> not gaining the right power ?! ... I will check it, maybe its goal

Hi and welcome, if the car has been in a crash, you will want to check the intercooler, is it new, ( dont want any holes in it) and pipework, you might not be getting boost.

very true,

mitRee: check all the pipe rubber tubes are on the pipes correctly and that the clips holding them on are tight, also i would double check that the person who did the dyno engine run set all the information properly

Looks like the one he has fitted is 80 A/H. Anyway it's not going to cause a huge loss of BHP as he's claiming.

heheh, it was only .. dont know how to say it in english .. err, when you are in trouble, you are thinking about a lot of things, so many are like that one with Battery .. :)

i think, that measurement is OK .. we did five runs, maybe the gear ratio is little different, but the car doesnt run like a 186 HP "beast" - we bet with a friend before the dyno test, I said 110 HP, he said 120 HP ( due to "how the car goes" ) and the dyno "said" 115 HP, so its ( almost ) definitely true .. anyway i checked the pipes few days ago, didnt find nothing suspicious, but i will check it again and more "deeply" :)

thx, its possible that the intercooler is wrong, i will check it .. and a little info - everytime when the car is on run, the middle tunnel in the interier is very hot ( below shifting ) and when i turn off the engine, from manifold goes popping ( like a popcorn ) sounds, but very intensive .. dont you know if its normal ?
