Firefox can be tweaked for fast search. Here's how it's done. I've got this from sources over the net.

"Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:

1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining

network.http.proxy.pipelining

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

--------------

Or simply download fasterfox 1.0.1 extensions. Then browse galleries like hell!

Firefox is more secure than IE, since IE is targetted by so many viruses and worms. However, once Firefox becomes just as popular, the security advantage may disappear.

I couldn't agree with you any more on that comment ................

My mate got a delivery of a brand new pc the other day from DELL.

DELL are now pre-installing FireFox on there computers ...................

Firefox is superb. Thunderbird is iffy at times but fine when you get used to it. I personally use Firefox 1.5 and Outlook (not Outlook Express - that's dirt - I use the Outlook from MS Office).

If I want the absolute fastest possible feature-rich browsing experience, then I'd recommend Opera 8.5 - it's free and it flies!
