****UPDATE**** @ 11.04am

Richard is still critical but stable,the first person on the scene was a fireman and followed him once R.H passed the safety vehicle and noticed that the parachute was deployed and fuel was shut off correctly,he was breathing and had a strong pulse after the vehicle came to a stop,all safety procedures were followed apparently the reason for the head injuries were due to the fact that the car dug into the grass whilst it was rolling over as it veered off to the right.

Wonder if he wore a HANS devise.

TV presenter Richard Hammond suffered a "significant brain injury" in a high-speed crash, doctors said tonight.

But Leeds General Infirmary said it was "reasonably optimistic he will make a good recovery".

hmm a donation table for somone that is paid prob earns 100k a year and is insured to the hilt..... sorry dont agree with that... but my sincerest best wishes to the family in anycase..

The donations go to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service, which relies on charitable donations.
