Amplifer Mounting Positions

Recommended Posts

Ok lads in the middle of trying to figure out whats the neatiest and safest way to secure my 2 amplifiers and 12 inch Sub in the boot of my RS. I cut an MDF sheet to size earlier to create a flat surface to secure eveything to.

A few ways i was thinking of doing it

1. mount the 2 amps in the spare wheel well on the underneath of the MDF sheet, they would be upside down

2. mount the amps onto the sub box.( Would bass from the sub damage the amps because of their close proximity?)

3. raise the floor level of the boot using another MDF sheet same size as first one, covering the amps and then making 2 perspex windows so you can still see the amps through the windows( Would this cause the amps to overheat due to lack of circulation?

Cant think of any other ways to do it. If someone has any pics of similar installs please let me know! Or if anyone can think of i way i can do it without losing too much boot space

That will weigh an absolute ton! i got a stealth box in the archwell and created a small amp platform the is a friction fit between the two arches works perfectly.

There not cheap but fit perfectly, they even fit so theres a gap below it so you can still get the carpet out to get to the spare. And the bass from them is still good.

I was lucky and found a second hand one on eBay.

But heres a link to the website:
