Gs 300 Performance Resistor

Hi Guys and dolls, I have been on e bay over xmas as you do bored after the washing up has been done etc.. and bought a "performance boosting resistior" for my newly aquired Gs 300 sport 1996

This device is supposed to give an extra 5 to 35 bhp if you can believe it as it woz under a tenner all in I clicked buy now and it's here.

The instructions say to either disconnect the Battery or remove the fuel injection 20amp fuse before you start, and then find the air sensor plug, unplug it and shove this resistor in, then leave it off the plug. and hey presto more go go!

So a few questions for you experts out there.

1. has anyone done this and does it work.

2. If so which plug is it I have to put this resistor into ( there are two 2 wire plugs on the intake manifold)

3. Should I just throw this in the bin before I blow my car up!!!

1 - Maybe someone has but it don't work

3. It's junk - it just fools the car into thinking the engine is cold, and therefore runs richer as if the 'choke' was out. What'll eventually happen is that the additional fuel, which is largely unburnt, washes oil off the cylinders and wears your engine out, and damages the catalyst.

you coulda resold it back on eBay to some other poor mug!

This sounds just like the device that gives you 10% better fuel economy (its basically something for an NA motor that lets more air in after the maf sensor so you run the car lean) except this fools the ECU to run richer instead.

You want 35 bhp more buy an aristo :D
