Servicing Etc

Hello all.

Quick question, my IS200 (2001 auto) has been standing for some time and I want to put it back on road and its due 60k service, cam-belt, plugs etc.

I have been in touch with Westfield Motors in Essex who are an independent Lexus garage and was wondering if anyone has used this garage before or any info on it? I'm also renewing the discs and pads all round and the guy at Westfield has quoted me with his own brand who says he uses them on his car, what you think?

Also can anyone recommend tyres, Dunlop SP9000 L?? And good place to purchase?

I have used Westfields for last 4 years. My LS was looked after by them, as is the GS. Say hi to Chris and Ian from me!

I don't see a problem with the parts they use. Personally, I use Lexus parts, but I get them from the States on the cheap!!!

Thanks for the reply Maneesh, just got off the phone from them and they do sound very nice genuine people.

Think i got a good quote from them to carry out the 60k service inc cam-belt, tensioner, idler, plugs, other belts and the discs and pads etc. £1000 - What u lot think?

Cheaper than Lexus thats for sure!

I have been looking for a Lexus specialist also and saw them. Let me know what they are like?

I have SP9000 L's and like them. Old tyre now but not sure if Dunlop still do them? A lot of people seem to use the Goodyear F1's etc also.

The Dunlop SP9000 L (L denotes Lexus specific)

try HERE you will need to call then as they have 2 prices listed

and neither has the L noted but has MFS which I think may stand for ManuFacturerSpecific.

or HERE for mobile fitting 4 x Tyres = £ 370.61

I use either Headley Tyres - 01635 268384 or Micheldever Tyres - 01962 774437.

Never found anyone locally cheaper including fitting, even from Web.

As DJ Wozza said, make sure you get the Lexus ones. They are made in Japan (is a way of telling if the are or not), rather than Germany. Non lexus versions are NOT recommended for IS200.
