Lexus Lane

Have i missed this already but did no one see the governments proposal to allow motorists to pay to use the hard shoulder on selected motorways? They are going to call it the "Lexus Lane" as only rich people will be able to afford to pay the charges.

Personally i think its a terrible idea.

hilarious...it would have been called 'BMW Lane' but obviously doesn't quite trip off the tongue so easily...we've got the BMW lane in the UK already , it's a well known fact the outside overtaking lane is only for Beemers

this is nothing to do with reducing congestion, its just yet another revenue for the government

No no no no no. It can't be the BMW lane, as if it was, everyone would drive really badly, very close to each other, have a jacket hanging in the rear window, drivers looking very smug when a Mondeo pulls aside them, constantly trying to bully their way past the car in front and believing their brakes will let them stop from 90mph to standstill in less than 10 yards and all drivers feeling very pleased with themselves for driving a BMW on the misguided illusion it's the Ultimate Driving Machine, when basically they've been charged about 5 grand too much - by Germans!

If it was called the Volvo lane....... don't even get me started.....

Lexus Lane works for me.
