Hi As the title say the alarm on my LS has started to go off of no reason. In fact its gone off 5 times in the last 15 hours.Does anyone know if there is any way the sensitiveity can be ajusted or any other reason why this might have started happening as ive had the car for 18 months and this has never happened before.

Thanks in advance Andy

I have a 1997 Mk3 which had the same symptoms. It was the motion sensor in the armrest, it had become a bit over-sensitive. Lexus fixed it for less than £50 (I think), so it must have been dead simple!

There is a way to "reduce the sensitivity". It doesn't appear in the manual but when I had an IS200 as a replacement vehicle whilst mine was being serviced, I found the manual had something about the locking of the car. I tried it and it was the same on my LS400. I'm not going to mention it as it may be a security secret. Try experimenting with the remote locking.

Had the same problem with my MK4 last year. Read somewhere that storing keys or metallic objects in the centre console could trigger the alarm (can't remember the explanation). Took out the keys I had in there and not had a problem since.
