Is200 Front Cover

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

With the amount of dual carriage way miles i do i have been thinking it may be worth looking into one of the covers that protects the front from chips........I know they look a sod and the little ones that go on the bonnet dont protect much but i just wondered A) if you can get these for the IS and if they're worth it.......???

Cheers!

Yeah those are the things!!!!

Well i know for softer fresher paint it would be a must but im thinking of getting the whole car professionally vallet, as in spend a shed load on getting the paint really restored and thought that if im going to the effort of that it might be worth looking into a "car bra" to try and protect it as i spend most of my time on the A12 and theres always crap being thrown up.

Hmmmm think its time for some serious tin-tin-net hunting!!!

Cheers guys, yeah i agree the look barf but on the colour IS ive got i thought i might be able to get away with it! lol.......

As for the clay bar i have treated myself to the Meguairs clay bar and detailer and have done that follwed by a tech wax a few times but just never feel 110% satisfied with the result, i know im very OCD about a clean car and that might not help but just wondered if the bras were very good at protecting anything as the bumper is still on show at the end of the day!

Hmmm might just go nuts with some cutting compound on the car and get it gleaming that way..........

I have thought about getting it wrapped but my only thought was would it look like a phone screen when you havent taken the film off...........think the problem is i want my cake and eat it and minimise stone chip potential with the minimum of fuss and im not going to get that! hmmmmmm........

Not unless i got the front of the car resprayed! lol........extreme i know but could be worth investigating???

The trouble with car bra's is getting dirt underneath and the paintwork being damaged by chaffing of the bra. You also tend to get a build up of crap just under the outer edges, but they do prevent stone chips. Look bloody 'orrible but guess that's down to personal preference.

The wraps like the type by 3M do a better job, although you can see the finish line when viewed at certain angles. The film also gets stone damage, but it's easier and cheaper to replace than the paint.
