Rather than mixng you could just go for the safe route and buy heat resistant paint. Those bulbs to get quite hot

I am either planning on doin this myself or buyin IS300 headlights if i can find them so pics when done and maybe some step by step pics would be much appreciated mate :winky:

If you are fitting IS300 lights, or anything from the US, do your research and make sure you know how to fit them and ensure they are legal. Not always as straight forward as people expect it to be - be warned. Many have made mistakes before you so the forum should be packed with old info.

i know there is the light tinting spray you can buy. but i guess thats only for the outside of the light. and with a HID kit it will be even more hot.

I always thought HIDs were actually cooler than halogen bulbs in terms of temperature?

well ive made a start on them...

i sprayed it with some undercoat and left it to set for a couple of hours, sprayed the 2nd coat and let it bake in the oven :)

i heated the oven up to maxium and then switch it off and put the light in and let it dry up in the oven over night see what the out come is....

i got the oven idea with the spray from work today when i went to the repair center, the spray a car and stick it in the oven to harden the paint. thought id try it see what happenes...im hoping it would make it more heat resistance i dont know how  .... but its just a thought B)
