Is200 Luminated Door Sills

Recommended Posts

Hi guys came across this on flea-bay...HERE

Item number: 130267158255

I know they are rare, but i think thats a bit steep..i would maybe pay around £80 max for a new set, considering that these have the tendancy to go wrong. One member on here (sorry forgot his name) is on his 3rd pair within a very short time span. Anyone else have these in their car and how long have they been working?

No offensive to the seller ofcourse, if he can sell it for that much, good on him cos i got a pair for front and rear (front ones cut to fit rear) , both not fitted yet.

Yeh i saw him trying to sell them a while back for £400'ish so looks like he's dropped the price a bit :whistling: i did look into making some of these a while back with another member on here but the electroluminescent strip and the plates worked out quite expensive to make :whistling:

I won't say how much I paid for 1 (but it was cheap), however I am still in the hunt for another to match it !!

When I bought my IS200LE in Nov 2003, the illuminated plates were a catalogued Lexus accessory and were £250 a pair fitted. It took three sets before they worked for more than 2 days, but those are still fine. Only front sets were available, and the word Lexus on them is too big to allow you to cut them down for the rear. The electronics (invertor) live at the bottom of the front door pillar, and if you search back a long way on this site, there are instructions and pictures how to fit them. Lexus apparently still have some :D

Guys, mine lasted for about 6 months before these started playing up.......at the moment only half the letters light up (I assume there are two lamps/lights inside), oh yes and part of the word Lexus has dropped off both sills and I need to reglue them on. Mine were new OEM off eBay which I got for about £100, are they worth it? Definately no, footwell lights and lighting in the door (all blue on mine) are more robust and will last alot longer, give these sills a big miss in my opinion.
