Is220d Driver Seat

Hi

I just bought a Sept 2006 model IS220D and notice that driver seat (cloth, not leather) is quite sueeky and groany when i accelarate and corner. It makes the car sound really old. Has any ever bought a replacement seat and if so how much? It has only done 20K so the previous owner must have put the seat through it's paces.

I'm sure people have had seats replaced under warranty for that reason, I'd take it to your dealer and tell them you want a new one.

Defo. agree - get your dealer to put in a Warranty claim if you're not 100% satisfied. Do it now before the 3 years is up because there is very little chance after wards - even if you have the AUC.

If the first dealer wont do it, go to another.

i had my seat replaced under warranty,

mine is a nov 06 220d,they tried a number of times to fix it, but there are no moving parts so lexus gb agreed on a replacment, if they try and say they have never had this problem before tell them to ring lexus sheffield.

Hello i had same probs with Leather seat

and Lexus Birmingham fitted a seat bracket modification kit

and it has now stopped creaking

There's a simple fix to cure the seat creak - they remove a couple of locating lugs under it and it's sorted. The lugs are for use during assembly and are not needed.

i thought the lugs were just on the IS 200 as i had the same problem with that car as well,

the 220d had to have a complete new seat but as mentioned they may have got a fix for it now

Thanks, Everyone. I didn't think it would be covered by the warranty but your comments have given me ammunition. I'll definately be contacting Lexus to see what they will do. It'll either be a new seat or the lugs. Obviously a new seat would be great.
