Dvd / X-box On Is Sat Nav

Recommended Posts

Doesn't look like the IS to me either.

If you look at the product closely, they offer an ADDITIONAL RGB cable.

From this I would assume that your cd equipment needs an RGB output. The stock Sat Nav already supports RGB (Although it seems to be some weird frequency on the sync). There is no mention of a composite input (i.e. camera, playstation, etc type output). It seems as if they are just using a frequency shifter.

Another thing to be weary of in case anybody is thinking of buying this is that if they ARE using frequency shifting on the RGB side then they will almost certainly be using NTSC rather than PAL.

After the full closure on the IS, I'm planning to develop a system that works with the IS Sat Nav screen with a composite input for camera, playstation, dvd, etc.

I like the bit about "Theives will only see the stock sat nav system and walk straight by",

Obviously not originating from Liverpool! (like my good self, before I'm accused of some sort of racism)

There is someone on the I300.net who has managed to do this to his IS300 Sat Nav..

I've mailed them but not got a reply yet.

There is one guy there who claims his uncle does it all the time and sells the parts. No reply off him either. Looks like I'll have to start from scratch.
