I couldn't find a related topic specifically about bedding brakes in, please feel free to link it if there is one, but....

How do you/should you correctly bed in your new brakes?

I had my fronts done when I first got the car and I think the rears now need doing, but having never replaced brakes on a car, I was told to bed them in, now the mechanic was really detailed on how I should bed them in, his expert words were as follows:

"go easy on them for the first few days"

now I think theres a little more to it than this....?

Just try and be very soft on your brakes dont use prolonged hard stopping...if you go on motorways just ease back a little and gently feather them.......just common sense really...just dont go mad for a 50- 100 miles....
