Just thought I would drop a note on here to let people know my GS is running LPG.

She performs. As well as ever and you can't tell when she has switched from petrol (when cold on start up) other than the light changes.

45 litre tank gets me over 200 miles at 76p a litre.

I wish there was a way of fitting a bigger tank as my round trip to work is 140 miles, so filling up a fare bit.

Happy to answer any questions, or if you are nearby pop in and have a look.

Had mine converted 3 years ago and killed the car, 2 X blow ups and numerous breakdowns, had flash lube fitted, what a disaster like Lexus told me ( after I had it fitted)

I have had LPG on Lexus's for years and years, never had a problem, as long as the install is good its great, had engines over 300,000 on gas and still ran like a clock, well worth it.

You will notice your oil will say clean from change to change, plugs last longer the lot, its great.

Is a good idea to run sometimes a little bit on petrol to lubricate the valves, now n then.

You could always have a second tank fitted for greater range.

Interesting, my 2002 GS300 wouln not run on LPG, my previous Omega ran for 200,000 no bother from the same installer and they advised the Lexus as a good car to convert but a complete disaster with the exhaust valves in spite of flash lude and 1 tank in 3 of petrol used, Lexus say it is the VVTI system cant cope eith the extra heat.

So what is it that makes the oil go dirty? Over last 15/20 years I have never seen oil in any of my cars anything but nice and clean. I have my cars serviced at correct intervals of mileage or time but never have dirty oil.

oil will go dirty due to the soot factor of the combustion engine , it will depend on useage i.e stop start ect but changing oil 1/2 the schedule time is prob why yours is clean imo

I have always had my cars serviced on schedule. When I was covering 25/30k annually it was 3 or 4 times a year but I currently do about 4k in my GS430 and about 2K in wifes i30 (21 months old 3.8k on clock) so the cars now get an annual service. I have never had services done at 1/2 scheduled time/mileage.
