List Of Voice Activation Commands

Recommended Posts

Only joking, I'll find a list...

Thanks for your assistance Tango! Does the list include controlling the multimedia pack?

Have a look at my edit above, under audio. I've found I only use a few regular commands and get quite frustrated when others do not appear to work. Have been known to swear at it on such occasions and the replies were quite funny e.g. I exclaimed 'Oh Fxxx Off' and the response was 'showing all airport icons' Dunno if it was coincidence or whether the programmer had a sense of humour.

Hi Tango,

I am also finding it frustrating when the voice commands to not appear to work!

I think I will stick to pressing the buttons instead.

I've never used these. Great fun - the kids love it. All of their friends want their Dads to get a Lexus now!

Not sure about the benefit of pressing a button and speaking over just pressing a button but it is certainly entertaining. I'm surprised at how well it works - I've only had one mistaken command and that is probably because I spoke too soon. I wish I could turn off the "speak after the beep" prompt and just have the beep.

I've managed to switch it off on my RX400. There's an option that you can get to when you are on the navigation screen and press menu and then settings I think.

There are many more NOT in the manual !!

For instance try "I'm hungry" and see what happens! Or say "Chinese Restaurants" and the nice lady will say "System is showing chinese restaurants"

There are lots more but if I tell you them I will have to kill you :winky: :winky:

As has been said, I find it jus as quick to tap on the screen for most of the stuff I use.

I remember my 350z had a voice activated hands free system built in and it was horrendous. And what was worse was that the "woman" was very abrupt. I regularly used to swear at her.

Yes, aware of that, but the list I posted were the basic commands. 'I'm hungry' flashes up the restaurant icons, but as you say you can also specify by type of cuisine. I forgot the other one I use more often with the IS-F than I did with the IS250 SE-L and that's 'Show Petrol Stations'
