The wheels on my 2001 LS430 were in a shocking state with the origionally paint none existent.

I took the car to The Wheel Specialists in Leeds and they have referred them back to the origional factory colour.

I can't believe the results and they now look like new. I was considering some new wheels but I am glad I have had the originals done instead.

Good result, Lexus wheels are a definite weak spot on an otherwise excellent car.

Did they do the full treatment back to bare metal?

The proof of the pudding is after a couple of British winters!

I've never had original Lexus wheels on mine it came into the UK on chrome alloys but they sucumbed to the British love of road salt so now running on Mitsubishi Evo 9 rims.

They do a full blast then bake the bare alloy to remove moisture then referb. Not the cheapest but come with a good garentee.

As you say time will tell but for now I am very happy.

I managed to buy a complete set of as new rims cheaper than having mine refurbished but cringed and cursed when I managed to kerb one despite driving very carefully.

These were mentioned recently in a car magazine and thinking about fitting some.(The black ones of course!)

I wondered whether to get wheels refurbed but remembered alloygators mentioned on here some time ago.

Two wheels were quite scuffed and 2 not as bad so fitted a set of these instead.

Thought even if they just delay refurb another year 65 quid a set (enough for 5 wheels) not too much wasted.

Didn't occur to me to take pics of how it went until I'd already done the worst 2.

So before / after difference not too dramatic but pics taken and topic will be here soon.
