Hi and Welcome to LOC.

I've never heard of that before sorry hope someone can help you. Is it wired up correctly. Does the Radio and Tape deck work or is it completly dead?

My CD player works sometimes and then other times get the error code. Has a mind of its own and its not too much of a problem for me to be honest.

Good luck, hope you get it sorted.

Chris.

That's what I was thinking, has the previous owner fitted an after market unit because of the CD player issues on the OEM unit and then just thrown the old one back in when selling the car.

At least it's nothing too major, the prospect of lexus ownership can cloud the mind and things are easily missed on viewing.

check the plug has been replaced in the amp behind glovebox, as said above previous owner prob fitted an aftermarket cd. Had exact same thing on my previous is200.

Ok bit of an update on this, I removed the stereo and found that the only thing plugged in was this

Now not sure why anybody would do this? I'm far from an expert so any input appreciated. Where do I go from here as the other part of this wire is just taped up.

I would have expected some sort of connection, even to a different plug but maybe they just cut out and taped up.

Only option really is to re-make all the connections - if you're careful there looks to be just enough wire on. I'd use heat shrink tubing with that rather than tape as they are so close.

There should be another connector behind there somewhere unless its the model without the amp.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't see another connector behind there but I do have the amp? I will have to get the get the glovebox lid off and check.

Is it simply a case of connecting the colour coded wires?
