Sorted it. Disconnected the Battery for a few minutes then reconnected and radio now working normally. Just another niggle on what is supposed to be a ' luxury car". My first Lexus and my last, they really are just as crappy as other Jap makes and seem to suffer from one obscure problem after another. As for parts, they must all be hand carved from gold by fairies judging my the price of anything from a suspension bush to a door lock.

Compared to my last car, a Jag, the Lexus has been cost free so far. It doesn't matter what car you get you're not guaranteed a niggle free car. I've had 8 cars in 7 years and every one has had its problems. We want so much technology in our cars but we want it to work perfectly, technology, in my opinion is never going to be 100% problem free otherwise i'll be out of a job.

As cars go, 2003 is elderly and therefore things will go wrong although your speciifc problem relates to an electonic item and having to reboot any such gadget is not unusual so hardly a failing of a Lexus.

I have now had three Lexus cars (IS/RX300 and RX400) and have found them very economical in terms of parts requirements and indeed consumable parts generally (discs etc) not expensive at all.
