Remove Drivers Door Trim Panel

Recommended Posts

Looking at the exploded diagram which I cannot post due to copyright there appears to be 4 screws to remove, 2 are located on the right hand side edge approx 1/3 and 2/3 down the trim panel, another is located around the door handle/armrest area (look under it or it may be necessary to prise out the window control panel to access). The last one is around the area where the tweeter speaker is fitted it may be necessary to remove the cover which normally just clips off.

The trim panel is then held with plastic clips which will need a good tug, start at the bottom corner and pull on the panel and then you should be able to see the others as you move along. The clips are pretty strong and rarely break.

Once the trim is completely loose you will need to disconnect any electrical connections to the puddle light etc and then pull the panel out from the bottom and lift it up off the top of the door.

I may have missed something so take your time.

If you google "Lexus IS door trim removal" there are some links there including some LOC posts for the IS200 which may assist further.

Follow these pics to uncover the screws behind the door handle and switch panel. Take out the screws and then pull the door card away from the door frame. There are additional guide pins that are prone to break if you're not careful, as well as the "normal" plastic clips.
