Well, I'm relatively new to LS400 ownership, but I also love my Land Cruiser Colorado. I also have a BMW R1150RS motorbike. When Er Indoors and I were coming back from a family do last night, in the snow, in my Land Crusher (as I call her), I had the usual game of which would I keep if I could only have one?? I don't have an answer... I so wanted to take the Lexus last night but weather conditions dictated otherwise. I am so lucky to have the choice, a 1997 Lexus, 1999 Toyota, 2002 BMW (I hear they make cars too???), all old, a bit like me really!!! A fleet that is worth less than some one else's sole company car alone...I just don't care.

MNP.

We have a Ford Escort estate LPG of course for the wife so we are just a two car family which round these parts puts us in the poor category, I did used to have a Reliant Scimitar which was on a C plate one of the last to be registered before it went bust with just 40K on the clock when I had to sell her as I was having real difficulty getting in but even worse trying to get out. She was a fantastic car and I only bought her as a friend of mine had one when I was in my 20s and I always promised myself that one day I would have one. My other passion is guitars and I have around 100 or so. Mike

Nice to have another keen musician on here! I used to work as a musician (keyboards and percussion) and, having taught music in school, now teach about music education in a university. Also run a company that sells music tech if you ever need anything!

I used to teach privately but only ever took students that could demonstrate that they were prepared to do the hard work, practice practice practice which 90% of them didn't want to do, but I have had some great students over the years many of them out there earning a living at it. Mike

A pic of the vfrpost-16507-0-66012700-1358461494.jpg

That really is inside isn't it? Well if you can get away with that I must be able to convince my wife that the newly aquired jukebox would look good in the house.

Its the Wifes vfr she got too nervous to ride it as it became rarer & the value increased. ( Little hope of getting new bodywork for it if she dropped it) Hence she now has a cbr 600. I have sold too many bikes in the past Knowing they will soon become collectable. The most recent being a vf1000rg ( when the buyer collected it he informed me it was one of only 3 RG models in the country). The little vfr400 is a lot better investment than an isa. It seems to go up in value by about 20% per annum.

It is a beautifully put together motorcycle as well. Far ahead of its time 22 years old now with 10.000 miles.

Wow 20%, I hope its well insured!

I used to have British bikes many years ago. My brother had a BSA Bantam which broke down due to a pubic hair on the spark plug!! Those were the days.

Seeing as we shared a few photos, here are my 2 wheeled love affairs.

Aprilia Caponord 1000cc V-twin, 98 bhp, 70mph cruising armchair it's that comfy. Father in Law did the wheel polishing at his home, nice job too.

Suzuki 1300 B-King, 180 bhp, zero to 100mph in about 6 seconds if you can hang on without your arms being ripped off.

If you get the chance to try one, have a go but beware, they are a wild animal that need a healthy amount of respect. Zero to the scene of the crash in seconds is the phrase.

I think I'm just greedy A ls430 2004 a 98 ls400, 2 cbr600s (his & hers) sold my zzr1200 in the summer ( my license was in danger)

& wait for it, A mint totally standard vfr400nc30 in the front room just too look at ( fits perfect in the bay window) & is a work of art.

Good choice with the VFR400 I used to race one about six years ago spent a fortune on it but ended up being one of the quickest in the country lovely bikes.

We sadly lost a 28 year old member of our family last year when his bike hit a tree at 100 MPH +, its not the first person close to our family that has been lost in this way which is probably why I have never had or wanted to own one. Mike.

Very sorry to hear that, it is the unfortunate thing with bikes great fun but at a risk, ive been riding since I was 16 & was a London despatch rider for 5 years needless to say Ive lost a few close friends along the way. The bikes do get in your blood & generally the people who own them know the risk, All I can say is I'm sorry for your loss Mark
