Hi. I've finally got myself a is200. Been after one for years but what with other things taking up most of my spare cash (buying our first house, wedding and now my daughter) I've had to put it on hold. After being made redundant recently and then finding a job I was able to get my pride and joy. A 2001 is200 sport. I was worried about the high milage at first but since buying it and throwing a few quid at her I couldn't be more happy. Thanks for listening to my life story.

Sweet. I was looking for this colour these wheels and the sport model. I would of loved the sat nav but was never going to get it. Picked it up three weeks ago for 1200. Like I said the miles scare me a bit but it really does drive like a lesser mile motor.

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

Good idea having the cambelt done, it was overdue, did you have the tensioner and idler replaced as well?

Grab some decent quality 5W-30 oil ( I use Magnatec) and a genuine Toyota filter.

Very sensible :)

Only problems I've had with mine are siezed brake callipers. Keep an eye on them, very common :(

Check the three Auxillary belts at the front of the engine. Should be done every 60k. These are cheap, about £60 for all 3 fitted :)

The aux belts were done when garage changed the cam belt (full cam belt kit) they were on way out so garage said it was relatively cheap so did it anyway. And the mentioned the calipers to as I had the pads changed at the front so the will take a look when they service it. I've always wanted this car so at the moment no ex spence is being spared at the momen. Also Chris I've noticed a few TTE badges dotted around, what are they all about?

You sound exactly like me, I've spent almost as much as the original purchase price putting this car back to what it should be!

TTE stands for Toyota Team Europe. It's just a styling kit sold as an extra by Lexus, front and back bumpers and boot lip. There's no difference under the bonnet, exactly same engine as every other IS200, unless it has the TTE supercharger fitted which I doubt yours has LOL! Very rare and expensive and were aftermarket.

No supercharger here kid. But the subtle styling makes it look so awesome. Oh and had the tracking done last week as I thought it was out a little turned out every wheel was pointing in a different direction. Yeah so far spent about 1800 to 2000 on the car in total inc buying it. Oh and bought a parrot hands free to stream music as I was going to change the stereo but couldn't ruin the look of the interior. Plus the sound system is pretty great
