My wheels are at the shop ready to be refurbed. I've given some photos of the before and I'll get the wheels back Wed or Thurs and you'll get the after photos.

Very friendly and without my discount, it would've been £390 for 5 wheels. They showed me the finish that they'll be doing and I'm very happy. Silver with metallic sparkle. (Or sport spray apparently)

Can they do it same day or is it always a couple of days wait?

Not sure, I said I wasn't in a rush, I'm sure their website says they can do it in a day?

They knocked the price of the VAT off because the guys from the tyre place recommended them. It would've been £390 (including VAT) otherwise.

When i had mine done, i dropped my car off around 0800 and picked it up again at 1600. If you go on their website and request a quote, they will email you a quote straight away. Every couple of months they will email you again with an offer. I think i got 25% off on mine.

Further advice please. Changing from my 16" to 17". The tyres on the 16" are 205 wide and the 17" are likely to be 215 wide (though the guy at the tyre place said the wheels will take 225) Will I need any spacers or anything or can they be fitted without any problems?

I've got my wheels back. Chris! Yes they will do the wheels in one day. If you arrange a date, they said get the car to them in the morning, they keeps the car, take the tyres off, refurb the wheels, powder coat them, balance them, refit the tyres and the car is ready for collection by 5:30. It's just a matter of finding something to do in Cwmbran/Newport for the day?

If the normal rate is £390.00 including VAT for 5 wheels is it just me or does that sound a tad expensive?

Their price excluding VAT is £65. I think mobile valeters and refurbishers charge around £50. Chris said the place he got a quote for were £85 per wheel.

Don't know what I'm going to do all day in Cwbran? Never been there before. Hopefully there's a golf course near. :)

Yes, I probably could've. But I'm happy with the cost and the results of the refurbishment work.

Also, to given a further update, Lexus Cardiff offered to sell me a set of refurbished 17" 5 spoke Lexus is200/is300 alloys for £105.00 per wheel, and while, yes, patiently searching fleabay could've found a set of refurbished wheels, I think I've actually done well to get the wheels and have them refurbished for a total of £84.00 per wheel.

Natalie at Lexus Cardiff has just said they can beat the price of Trade Price Tyres in Newport and get a set of 5 Hankook Ventus Prime 2 K115s 215/45/R17, fitted for less than £450.00. I'll keep you updated.

The shiny uppermost face on the original wheel. Has a slightly riven appearance.

No, just the uppermost face of the whole of the wheel.

Look out for an is200 on your travels and then take a close look. Then you'll see the shiny facing on the wheel.
