My First Lexus

Hi all just thought I,d say hello.

I had the car a few days now and have to say I love it,I must admit i was starting to panic about MPG and engine problems and although its early days all seems well in that department,however I do seem to have a noise from the dashboard on the passenger side that seems to come and go but can be very loud at times and sad to say ruins a great experience.

Anyway it's early days yet and the dealer wants to have a listen to it so hopefully they may have a answer.

Sorrry I didn't know what car you had cos on the mobile version it doesn't show next to your name.

Anyway.... If the noise is a 'crack' like a winsdscreen cracking then it's a re call issue I believe and they sort something out behind your dash. Call a Lexus dealer and see if all re call work has been carried out on your car.

Thanks for the info,I have already asked if there where any outstanding recalls on the car before I bought it and apparently there were never any recalls on it so obviously none outstanding.However been to the dealer today and I have a combination of noises from the dash fixings,air vent & may be from behind the stereo.Anyhow they are going to sort it out so happy days.

Not booked in til march so will update later.

Thanks for the welcome,It,s my first as well I had a 1 series before and overall it was a good car and although it's early days for the Lexus a feel as I've gone up a notch or two.

im on my second lexus in 12 months. not because i had issue but because i saw my cherry red one and had to have it. i will probably be a lexus owner for life now. best car i have ever driven

well my first was an 07 220 se which was good but this one is perfect i only do around 6k a year my work is 3 miles from home so you can imagine the small journeys. i do have a blast up and down the motoway everyweek to clean it out.

i love my car. its the cleaner g/km version but still @ 177bhp so its slightly cheaper tax.

oh just a quick tip my insurance was with swift cover @ £600 p/year 11+ NCD fully comp i changed to Hastings essentials and its now £255 fully comp. so woop woop

You sound like a very happy man.

Mines the dirty version and moved up a tax band so had to pay slightly more tax compared to my 1 series but I figured it was worth it.The extra toys on the sel aren't essential but don't they make a difference,I also managed to get a ML media package which is excellent.

You seem to have got yourself a good deal on your insurance,I've only changed the car over on my original policy so haven't had a renewal yet so will have a good look round.

wow even my IS200 petrol barly warms up after my 3 mile commute lol
