Don't have anything else on your car key? I don't anyway after I had a key snap in the barrel once on a honda. Got told it was because if all the other keys attached to it weighing down on it

Wears the interior of barrel out as well,

My fathers girlfriend use to have a load of keys ect on car key. Had problems starting car eventually it was traced to worn switch caused by weight on ignition key.

Yeah I get that but surely the millions of people around the world who have loads of keys on there and never have a problem speak volumes!?

Like I said I only have my house key on there, and my IS is the ONLY car I've ever had that the key bashes around like this.
