Isf Value Tracking...

The Lexus Bristol one went the day after it was advertised and now all the under £20k ones gone off AT. Just shows people are asking too much. Some on there have been since October last year!

we have to remember 08 is a wee while ago now. Mines 60k give or take now and I'm conscious that sounds alot. Certainly more than a car I've ever owned, well since I was a kid anyway. but its less than 8000 a year which isn't much.

all old cars may go wrong. Bits wear out. That's the quid pro quo against a newer one in return for less depreciation.

personally I don't have the Lexus warranty as I'm self insuring with the savings. I have another car if needed too. (which is just back from 1400 worth or service becaue the suspension was is need of some tlc). Bills on fast cars happen. I drive the lotus pretty hard on track too to be fair.

8k per year is nothing really when the average is 10-12k.

Personally I believe a well maintained (by dealers) well cared for example with extended warranty is worth a premium over those that don't hit that criteria.

Warranty is peace of mind and can be extended up to 10 years. Lexus also so deals for two years for the price of one on occasion.

Depends on how long you want the car for as well. Buyers will inevitably go for full service history and Lexus warranty over a car that had neither of these if the price difference isn't too different. Clearly the price difference element is subjective and down to each person to determine.

I'm on the look out for an ISF this year or next year, no rush. My preference would be to purchase from Lexus for peace of mind but I would consider an independent dealer/private with full Lexus service history. Spending 20k + on a performance vehicle, I would sleep better with some form of warrant! I have been monitoring prices for several months, its seems many are overpriced and stay on autotrader for ages (mostly the 2008/2009's), the well priced ones fly out the door!

Mine will be going up early next year at 22.5 and is a 2008. There is wiggle room in that price but the condition, full service history and 2 years Lexus extended warranty etc I think that's an acceptable price. As always the market will tell me if I am wrong.

Emjay 82, I personally wouldn't buy from main dealer only, servicing is done better by some Indy garages, I've had 3 previous lexus's, and after the first two that had full main dealer history, both had not been done as per schedule, the 3rd a new IS 250 was only serviced by Westfield "Lexus specialists ", just sold it for £6500 on an 06, my F has full main dealer history, but I only purchased due to not being able to find any private sales in "my" preferred colour, I have no intention of going to main dealer, they missed the 60k 6 yr service, n "oops sorry we didn't realise" don't cut it with me, I full trust Westfield as one less costumer is less money to them personally n not a corporation, but each to there own.

Good luck in your search, they really are fantastic cars

May have to sell mine at the end of the year too. I will be gutted to see it go when the time comes. Hopefully won't have issues selling it though as I intend to advertise at the right level and the mileage (not quite 30k yet) and history will certainly help.

When the time comes I will likely make it the cheapest on auto trader at the time (unless there are any really high milers or snotters on at the time!)

I want a 2010 model, that Torsen Diff... :geek:

Thought the same myself but unless you intend to track it, there is little point. The extra money for a MY 2010 is not worth it IMO, especially if the mileage and/or history isn't as good.

you can get 10 models like the white one sold recently for mid 20k ish. The Torsen will improve road handling for track and daily road use. I am going to see how the market is next year.

Very honest of you. Why would you be selling chap?

You hear that Lexus provides wonderful service but I have to admit, I've moved away from them on my is250. Never been impressed by my nearest dealer. I just would want peace of mind if something goes bang, although I guess something like warranty wise would offer the same.

I would ideally opt for an ISF with the revised suspension but would not discount a good example 2008. And of course the younger the car the better, budget allowing!

In my opinion, if it's got full history n the Indy garage is known to be a good one it wouldn't phase me at all, I'd do the homework on the history before I'd make a decision, they truly are bullet proof IF the cars looked after. After my experience of main dealers I don't trust them or believe them, much rather line the pocket of an Indy I trust, and pay half the cost, I'm sorry but £100+ an hour is exstorsion, I'd love to earn that.

Job change in the offing and I won't keep the ISF for the potential commute. I've only put 16k miles on it in two years and have enjoyed every one using it only for family transportation. Still love it, so it will be hard to make the decision to sell!

Hmm interesting thread.. so what's a sensible asking price for a 2008 Cadaxton slate grey ISF with 56k and FSH in good condition and all the right things done e.g. 60k major service/plugs/oils etc? Just spoke to Lexus Exeter and it was like pulling teeth to get anything from them price expectation wise.

I will be asking 22.5k for mine as described above and with 2 years extended warranty. Mine is mint though so depends on the condition in terms of paint chips, callipers pealing, wheels needing referb etc

High milers and no fsh seem to go for 18k plus so 20k plus I think. They are shifting for 20k plus but ultimately it's what you are willing to pay.

I paid £20,500 for my 58-plate, with full Lexus history, mine had 49500miles, BUT the 60k service has NOT been done. It's 7yrs in October, but mine had just had new discs n pad all round, it owed Lexus just over £21k, I used the service to barter a deal.

23k for a 08 in 2016 is pretty optimistic, most of the ones ages on AT are over 20k now for 08s, any of the keenly priced 10 models were sold very soon.

As we know I don't agree. The condition of mine is second to none. As I stated on previously there will be wiggle room in my 22.5k asking price as you have to build in a buffer. I knock up a pretty good advert so will see what happens. I have nothing to lose :)

Mine would also have had MOT and service in November and no need for tyres, discs, pads etc.
