Right This Car Is Going Back Now!

Recommended Posts

Seriously, 3 of us in convoy on the M5 this morning. Simply not having that, I might as well take it back and get a Ford Focus :megaangry: :msn-oh:

..... and yes I am kidding :driving: :winky: It was quite a surprise as you still only see the odd one.

Passed two in a convoy on the M1 today....Sandwitched between about 5 BMW 320/520ds :)

Incidentally, using one of theses for the next 48hrs whilst the BMW is in the garage....It apparently has a 'micro-hybrid' system, otherwise known as start-stop technology but, more like stalling-lurching. I quite like driving rubbish loan cars, makes you realise just how good cars like the IS is in comparison.

Really cannot wait for our IS300H to arrive.

Dear god, I've had a few boring courtesy cars in my time, an Astra and a Corolla spring to mind, but I'm afraid that would be a step too far......I'd have asked for my keys back and gone somewhere else.

Am i the only one thats had decent courtesy cars? Lexus gave me a Merc C220 CDI to drive for a day 7 years ago when my old RX went in for a recall.

The other one I had was a CT200h - decent for a courtesy car anyway but wouldn't own one.

No, I always specify what I want when I book the car in. Before I bought the 300h I had a GS450 for a day and on another occasion an RX.

I've always asked what courtesy car I want when its booked. RC-F should be in for the next service :)

Good luck with that, I did try for the IS-F once. Emphasis on try.

Nice courtesy car is last thing am bothered about when it comes to garages. For me its the quality of work done by the mechanic thats most important.

So I ended up doing 230miles in the Smart over 24hrs, actually not a bad little car. Tank cost £25 to refill from empty to brim!!

I actually took the BMW to a garage 45 miles away, reason been the car needed some specialist work which my local trusted garage couldnt do. Had to get the carbon deposits on the engine valves 'Walnut' blasted....yes Walnut shells :)

So the intake valves went from looking like this...

To this...

This is due to a problem with early direct fuel injection engine. The Audi RS4 suffers alot from this. Most BMW dealers wouldnt have heard of this problem, let alone have any equipment to clean the valves.
