Just got my courtesy phone call off Lexus Edinburgh

Re my warning messages on dash ..... All down to a knackered 12v Battery not holding a charge and low voltage, so new Battery ordered at a mere £291+penny's fitted (seemingly a specialist Battery with no cheaper alternative) this bill will be picked up by myself as not under warranty

Heated seat problem is down to heat Element being KAPUTT so replacement seat base+ leather ordered at a costly £1350+vat covered by my warranty

Windscreen washer jets not adjusting so new ones fitted under warranty 😃 (didn't even realise the was a problem with them)

Lexus Recall work on fuel servo line being done as soon as parts are in

So all going well I shall be sat back in my car (with a warm bum may I add) by the end of week

As car was recovered by lexus assist it will be transported back up to me 200mls at no cost

I'm a happy chappie 😃😃😃😃😃

Graham,

As I said earlier, that was almost exactly what happened to my 460 last year. According to the US forum, these cars eat batteries if you don't either use the car or keep the Battery charged.

Good result!

As some of you are aware I was drastically ill earlier last year and didn't use my car ( oh I'm 80% better now) had been advised to buy a trickle charge/solar charger for car as it was being parked up for a while but I didnt ..so lesson learned here as I'm putting this down to lack of use of car and especially with it being such a big car with all gadgets draining away at Battery.....

Next gadjets on shopping list is a solar charger

Glad to hear that you and L600h are back in the land of the living Graham.

As regards Solar Charges, beware the Solar Eclipse !!

Regards

John

Graham,

I'm glad you're still around to enjoy your LS. As for your sense of humour, I realised that was intact when you proposed using a solar panel - in Scotland :)

Brian..... Lol re the weather...where I live ive not had enough snow to build a snowball let alone a snowman in the last 3-4yrs.... Which to most would be a blessing but not me...I've 2 young kids in house and 2 brand new sledges well saying brand new there 3yrs old but never been used oh and I bought a set of 18" winter tyres and never been fitted sold them to a mate as they wer intially bought for my GS450h so no use for my 600 and went out and bought 19" winter tyres but just taking up room in garage now

John... The eclipse is this Friday about 08:45am

If you get a solar charger get one that connects to the OBD11 plug not the cig lighter socket. You cant fit one to the Battery terminals as the cables will not thread through the rear bulkhead so the collector can sit on the rear parcel shelf.

Whoop whoop... Just had the phone call to say cars sorted and ready for transporting back up to me... AA recovery phoned to say we can pick it up today but will be sat on transporter at services till driver can legally drive again as running out of hours for the day... My answer to that was leave it at Lexus and pick it up in morning.. Not wanting car sat in a services over night (I'm a lorry driver and know what goes on in services at nights ie pikeys and normal general thieves... So both Lexus n AA agree to leave it till morning 😄😄😄

Got fuel tank topped up by them 😄 note to self don't send car down with 3/4 tank next time 1/4 tank lol 😂😂😂

Really looking forward to getting HER back

Had to drive to Aberdeen today in the shogun and argggggghhhh I hated every minute of journey (I don't like diesels) plus noisy and felt the gear changes (autobox) and every bump in road
