Target Blue Eye

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had one of these fitted yet?For anyone who doesn't know what this is it's a device which warns you of any emergency vehicles within 1000 metres of you and it picks up there radio signals.I know someone who owns a merc amg c63 and he says its the best £1000 pounds he has spent on his car and has stopped him from losing his licence!I realise this is a "hot potato" because some will say you shouldn't be driving at silly speeds anyway?I wonder what other members think?

Hi Stu there is quite a lot of info online about this product some good some bad.I forgot to mention that it also picks up unmarked police cars also. There is a company near me that sell and fit Target Blue Eye i have visited them. They usually fit these devices to lambos ferraris mercs etc but were dead impressed with my ISF and said fitting would be no problem.

I have started to read up this product. Seems good to me. A bit expensive but I think it would pay for itself in regards to keeping you safe from points on your licence. I think it would go well with also having maybe the snooper 3zero.

Yes, they work by detecting active tetra radios which are used across europe and surprisingly are legal on the continent as well as here. Only issue I can see is that the govt wants to close down he tetra network and shift the emergency services to a closed mobile network to save money, thats why the recently twisted the phone companies arms to increase network coverage.

Even if they do take a year or two to change from the Tetra radios, it's still a lot of money for something that will ultimately become redundant.

You also have the possibility of it detecting a Fire Engine, Doctor Car, Fire Car, Ambulance etc which may not even be on the same road as you (crossover bridges etc).

Add the fact it only works if the radio is transmitting, and you have to ask if it still represents good value for money.
