I looked into this on my mk1 and from what i can remember the power gain realy was not worth the money £400.I think they are more suited to turbo driven cars .some of the diesels get unbeleivable power increase .i remember the increase in mine was about 8bhp :duh: .

This link is for an IS300 but the results should be the same for the GS

http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/unichip/...yota/is300.html

That looks about right.

It will also depend on the type of fuel being used and whether there are any other modifications done to the car, as the better the engine can breathe the more effective electronic tuning becomes.

We normally inrease the air/fuel ratio which improved the economy.

for that money would you not consider a nitrous kit for the occassional speed boost with the combination of no regular increase in consumption. although granted you'd not get "better" economy.

sure someones done this on a 300... might have been at TDI... not sure...

shot down in flames... okay. Don't know much about these things but would one of the things you attach to the fuel line with a built in cat of some sort be good for a LEXUS economy wise?

I'd maybe try that on the SC... Can they pop one on at the Dealer?

There are other benefits though as the chip is mapped to your car and not a preset chip for a host of cars.

Sorry it was superchip that i looked into this is there site http://www.superchips.co.uk/car/frameset.htm.

I looked into this for mine so I could have a chip that would make the best use of the stock factory set up of the car, but when I e-mailed my local Superchip dealer/fitter, because no Lexus were listed on Superchip's web site, he said that they "don't do a chip for Lexus because there is no processor to read."

Is there an alternative to Superchip, do Unichip do one for the Series I GS300?

I just wish mine did better mpg!

Anyone got any constructive answers? I reckon it could do better, like say 30mpg on a run even would be nice. The best I can get is 24, and that's motorway runs! i don't hammer it either.

I wish I could get the gearbox to change earlier when taking it easy. It's the sort of thing you'd do in a manual, get straight into fith gear.

I also wish that bloomin torque converter lockup would work sooner. You've only gotta touch the accelerator and it unlocks!

Come on guys, you may be able to help me keep my pride and joy here!!

Have to say, if I wanted better fuel economy I would have bought a diesel astra and if I wanted better performance I would have bought a Golf GTI :P :P :P :P

(sorry, couldnt resist) :winky: :whistling::driving:

:P

I had that one coming!

But if I wanted economy, sorry mate the griffin badge would not have done! ;)

Seriously though, I think it has the potential to do better. Maybe with a few mods?
